The 5 reasons to visit Estonia in 2018

The five reasons to visit Estonia in 2018

1)      Estonia is celebrating its 100th anniversary and not only on February 24. Many interesting concerts, exhibitions and all kind of events marking the republic’s first centennial are taking place year around and after until to February 2020.

2)      If you haven’t visited Estonia for couple of years, there are several new MUST VISIT museums and attractions on the picture.  The three whales to see are the Seaplane Harbour and newly renovated Maarjamäe Palace – Estonian History Museum in Tallinn and Estonian National Museum in Tartu. Get astonished by the stories they tell and the innovative way to present them.

3)      Year by year Estonia has been gaining recognition as a gourmet destination. The density of restaurants and cafés in small Tallinn is almost ridiculous. The food is fresh and tasty, most ingredients coming from local forests, waters and farms. No matter if street food or fine dining, the level of experience is unexpected high. There are also several so called destination restaurants outside of capital to discover. The fast growing number of craft beer labels is difficult to follow..

4)      We can’t miss the Estonian nature. It’s everywhere. Some of the nature protection areas are even inside Tallinn. If you are in hurry, you can do your birdwatching just 7 km from Viru shopping mall at Paljassaare peninsula.  The Estonian nature offers a big quantity of a real quality time filled with the silence in a bear observation hut, the pleasure of picking your own food or the thrill of canoeing on the rivers.  And yes, we have ranked as having the best air quality in the world by the WHO.

5)      And last but not the least, it doesn’t cost a much.  Lonely Planet named Estonia’s capital Tallinn the number one best value destination in the world to visit in 2018.  The reasoning is that Tallinn is easily accessible by plane and ferry, easily (and best) explored on foot, and offering excellent value food and accommodation to travellers. The travel book recommends especially  to visit the bohemian Kalamaja district.
