ESTONIAN MANOR HOUSES

Estonian manor houses deserve a special mention. The Saue manor, located only half an hour's drive from Tallinn, has been crowned with the title of the most beautiful and valuable estate complex in the Baltic states. It really is one of the best examples of Estonian early classical architecture.
The complex has been under national historic preservation since 1954. Each room has its own style, a different colour scheme and varied use of stucco decoration. The kitchen, with its walk-in fireplace, and the former ice-cellar also deserve a special mention.
To get into the right mood you can also enjoy a walk in the lovely English park, taste local wine and listen to a live recital of period music.
